The Group has developed a spiral hose made from biodegradable, cradle-to-cradle compliant polymer, thereby remaining true to its role as a pioneer in the industry. With the Hero@Zero strategy, the Group is actively working to do without additional resources in the long term and to develop innovative solutions for the circular economy. The consulting and product business is gradually being realigned and expanded to include services such as systemic support for take-back, recycling and eco-certification.
Masterflex Group drives forward the circular economy for plastic hoses
Significant progress has recently been made in Gelsenkirchen: the abrasion from the innovative hose is metabolized by microorganisms and thus provides nutrients for the environment - a valuable contribution to greater sustainability. These hoses will now be made ready for series production and will gradually expand and transform the product range. Further development steps include the selection of environmentally friendly adhesives, additives and wire solutions.
"We are showing our customers and other interested parties how the circular economy and technical excellence go hand in hand," emphasizes Managing Director Christian Horstkötter .
"With our Hero@Zero strategy, we want to make a positive contribution for our customers that is both economically and ecologically sustainable. Our vision is a circular economy for plastic hoses and connection systems with minimized resource consumption. Companies now have the opportunity to become part of the development of circular hose solutions at an early stage. Instead of only acting when circular products become the norm, pilot customers can help shape individual solutions and benefit from innovative added value," emphasizes Dr. Andreas Bastin, CEO of the Masterflex Group.
Customers and interested parties are invited to become part of this pioneering solution at an early stage. The company will be happy to provide further information and advice.
Note: An interesting short video was recently published on the subject of the Cradle-2-Cradle hose.
